FAQ

Quick answers before you take the touchline.

Why ONZE?

ONZE means “eleven” in Portuguese: the eleven players who start a football match for each team. It also celebrates our roots. ONZE was born in Brazil, where football is a national passion and the men’s national team has won five World Cups. A Brazilian word for a community we want to see playing around the world.

Do I need football expertise or an app?

No. ONZE runs in your browser, on a phone or computer. Each challenge explains the situation and your choices in plain language. Trust your instincts and learn as you play.

What am I seeing on the small pitch?

A compact view of the match’s key moments: chances, threats and outcomes, shown with animation and commentary at a pace you can follow. You make three decisions before kickoff, watch the first half and step in at halftime before the second. The experience condenses the match; it doesn’t replay every second of the 90 minutes.

Do my decisions really affect the match?

Yes. Your choices, the context and the players’ condition shape the chances and the risks: opening space to attack can also leave your team exposed. Think of backgammon: between chess-like strategy and roulette-like luck, good decisions count, but the unpredictable also steps onto the pitch. Learning to read matchups helps you decide better; a single defeat doesn’t mean your plan was wrong, and a good choice doesn’t guarantee a win.

How does the ranking work?

Eligible official results earn 3 points for a win, 1 for a draw and 0 for a loss. View today’s challenge or the last 19 matchdays: each new matchday replaces the oldest. It’s a rolling window, not a season everyone must start together. Ties are broken by wins, goal difference, then goals scored. Managers still tied share the same position.

How is My League different from the ranking?

The ranking compares you with other managers. In My League, your ONZE FC plays a 19-matchday campaign against 19 other clubs. Each manager has their own season: the same daily challenge can lead to different stories.

Do My League clubs have different styles and strengths?

Yes. Each club has a sporting identity, with its own traits, strengths and limitations. These profiles guide the League’s sporting coherence and balance; the interplay between styles keeps matchups and campaigns varied. An identity is a tendency, not a destiny: the table is decided on the pitch.

Can my ONZE be champion?

Yes — you can build a title-winning campaign. In My League, your ONZE faces 19 other clubs over 19 matchdays, and your decisions are part of that journey. Matchups and football’s unpredictability count too: there’s room to fight at the top, with no formula that guarantees the trophy.

Can I play with friends?

You can compete for ranking positions, follow one another and share results. Everyone plays their own match in the daily challenge. The rivalry lives in comparing results and talking about them; you aren’t playing a live head-to-head match. Direct duels, putting your ONZE head-to-head against a friend’s, are in our plans.

Do I need an account or a password?

You can try the challenge before creating an account. To link the result to your profile and join the ranking, sign in or create an account. No new password is needed: use an email code, Google or Apple, depending on the options on screen.

Can I replay to improve my score?

Practice attempts don’t replace your official result or add ranking points. When the option to try another plan is available, you can explore other decisions without changing your official score.

Is ONZE free? Does paying give an advantage?

Yes, ONZE is free to play. In the future, there may be paid options for personalization, additional content or other experiences. Our commitment is to never sell competitive advantage: paying doesn’t buy a stronger team, better chances of winning or extra official attempts to score ranking points.
